A special thank you to Sara and Virginia for testing the Ruffled Top Purse.

Worsted Weight (Red Heart Super Saver)
G hook or hook needed to get a tight gauge of about 15 sc = 4 inches

Ch 31

ROUND 1: Make 2 sc in 2nd chain from hook, sc in each chain (28) to last chain, working over yarn tail for remainder of this round, 3 sc in last ch, work in opposite side of starting chain and sc in each of 29 chain stitches. DO NOT join rounds. [62 sc]
ROUND 2: Ss in BACK loop of first sc of round 1 (counts as first sc), sc in BACK loop of each sc around. [62 sc]

ROUND 2: Rsc around, working 2 rsc in the ends. DO NOT join, you will get a nearly invisible join if you fasten off leaving a 12 inch tail, and use your needle to join. Sew straps to sides about 3 inches apart
Note 1:
How to crochet a sc foundation row:
Ch 2, insert hook in second chain from hook, draw up a loop, chain 1 to make the base chain, yarn over, pull through 2 loops to finish the single crochet. Then insert hook into the chain 1 just made to make the next stitch.

Note 2:
If you don’t want to use the sc foundation for your straps you may ch 61 and sc in 2nd ch from hook and each remaining ch. Then proceed to round 2.

MORE PROJECT PHOTOS

I have been taking photos of some projects. Where to take them is always a question for me.

The first is a Crayon Purse that I’m making for a craft sale. Now is the time to buy Crayola crayons if you are going to try this one. They are only 20 cents a 24 box at Wally World.

The second is a little girl's purse, crocheted of Red Heart. I will be posting patterns for both as soon as I proof them.

Note 1: When using one of the multicolor worsted weights you may want to ch 17 and work 10 rows before starting flap. Seems most the multicolor yarns are thinner than the solids. Then work the flap over 15 stitches.

Note 2: It seems easiest to work the case inside out when working in the back loop, turning right side out for round 9 and flap.

There has been a lot going on since I last posted here.

My younger son moved to Arizona, and the move was every thing but smooth. But he is mostly settled in now. Gives me a reason to go south for a month this coming winter.

I’ve been trying to organize my STASH now that I have more room. I learned from that task that I have way to much yarn. Way to many other crafts as well. I’m thinking about selling off some of the supplies for the ones I don’t do any more. But it very hard for me to give up ANYTHING, I might decide I want to do some of those things again. Does any of this sound familiar to you?

I’ve been busy getting ready for the bazaar season, which starts in early November and goes through the first weekend in December for me. So far I’m planning on three sales.

One of the things I’m making for the “Children’s Shop” are little credit card cases, or lunch money purses, or for whatever. Here’s what they look like. I’m also posting the pattern separately.

I’ve also been working on knitting and crocheting items to felt. Here’s a couple photos of recent ones.

Maybe now that things are a little more settled around here I can become a more frequent blogger.
