TREBLE BUMP CAR SEAT BLANKET


Many thanks to Von in TX for testing this pattern.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight (4) yarn approximately 12 ounces blanket and cap
US size J (6.0 mm) crochet hook
US size K (6.5 mm) crochet hook
Tapestry needle


GAUGE: 7 sts = 2 inches


SIZE:  Approximately 22X28 inches


NOTES:
1. Read through all instructions before beginning.
2.  K hook is only used when specifically called for.
3.  To adjust width add or decrease number of beginning chains in increments of six.  (E.g. 58, 70)
4.  Ch 2 at beginning of rows does not count as the first stitch throughout.
5.  Blanket and cap in photos are crocheted with Craft Smart (Michaels) Turquoise.


INSTRUCTIONS:

With K hook chain 64.

Switch to J hook.


Row 1:  Working in the bumps on the back of the chain sc in second chain from hook and each chain across.  Ch 1, turn.  (63 sts)

Row 2:  Sc in each sc across.  Ch 2, turn.  (63 sts)

Row 3:  (Ch 2 does not count as the first hdc) Hdc in each sc across.  Ch 1, turn.  (63 sts)

Row 4:  *Sc in next st, tr in next st. Repeat from * across.  Ch 2, turn.  (63 sts)

Row 5-6:  Hdc in each st across.  Ch 2, turn. (63 sts)

Row 7: Hdc in each st across.  Ch 1, turn. (63 sts)

Repeat rows 4-7 until blanket measures at least 12 inches from beginning chain.  End with row 5.

Slot for buckle.

Next row:  Hdc in 27 sts, ch 9, skip 9, hdc in 27.  Ch 2, turn. (63 sts)

Note:  Opening should be about 3 inches wide and centered.

Next row: Hdc in each hdc and ch across.  Ch 1, turn. (63 sts)

Repeat rows 4-7 three times.  Repeat rows 4 and 5 once.  Should measure between 6 and 7 inches from opening.  (63 sts)

Next row:  Hdc in 25 sts, ch 13, skip 13, hdc in 25.  Ch 2, turn. (63 sts)

Note:  Opening should be about 5 inches wide and centered.

Next row: Hdc in each hdc and ch across.  Ch 1, turn. (63 sts)

Repeat rows 4-7 four times.  Repeat rows 4 and 5 once.  Should measure about 8 inches from opening.  (63 sts)

Blanket should be about 28 inches from beginning chain.

Next row: Sc in each st across.  Ch 1, turn.  (63 sts)

Next row: Sc in each st across.  Fasten off.  (63 sts)

Weave in ends.
TREBLE BUMP CAP

SIZE:  15-18 inches

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight (4) yarn approximately 1.5 ounces
US size I (5.5 mm) crochet hook

Tapestry needle


Round 1:  Ch 3. 12 dc in 3rd chain from hook.  Join with slipstitch in top of first dc.  (12 dc)

Round 2:  Ch 2, 2 dc in each dc around.  Join with slipstitch in top of first dc.  (24 dc)

Round 3:  Ch 2, *dc in next st, 2 dc in next st.  Repeat from * around.  Join with slipstitch in top of first dc. (36 dc)

Round 4:  Ch 2, *dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st.  Repeat from * around.  Join with slipstitch in top of first dc. (48 dc) 

Round 5:  Ch 1, sc in join.  *Tr in next st, sc in next st.  Repeat from * around.  Tr in last st.  Join with slip stitch in first sc.  (48 sts) 

Round 6:  Ch 1, sc in join.  Sc in each st around.  Join with slip stitch in first sc. (48 sts) 

Round 7:  Ch 2, hdc in join.  *Hdc in each st around.  Repeat from * around.  Join with slip stitch in first hdc. (48 sts) 

Round 8:  Ch 1, sc in join.  *Sc in each st around.  Join with slip stitch in first hdc.  (48 sts) 

Rounds 9-12:  Repeat rounds 5-8.  (48 sts)

Round 13:  Ch 1, sc in join.  *Tr in next st, sc in next st.  Repeat from * around.  Tr in last st. Join with slip stitch in first sc. (48 sts) 

Round 14-17:  Ch 1, sc in join.  Sc in each st around.  Join with slip stitch in first sc. (48 sts) 

Fasten off and weave in ends.





CAP TO MATCH JERKIN

SIZE:  14 – 18 inches

NOTES: 
  1. Read pattern through before beginning.
  2. Cap in photo was knit with Craft Smart (Michaels) Butter
  3. It's a very stretchy cap comparable in size to the Top Down Seamless Jerkin.  For a smaller head turn up the cuff.
MATERIALS:
Worsted weight (4) yarn approximately 1.5 ounces
US size 8 (5.0 mm) 16 inch circular
US size 8 (5.0 mm) double point needles
Marker
Tapestry needle

NOTES: 
  1. Read instructions through before beginning.
  2. If a wide fold up cuff is desired work the K2, P2 ribbing for 3 inches and then proceed to round 8.


INSTRUCTIONS:
Cast on 60 stitches.  Join into round being careful not to twist.  Place marker.

Rounds 1-7:  *K2, P2.  Repeat from * around.

Rounds 8-9:  *P2, K2.  Repeat from * around.  (60 sts)

Round 10:  K.  (60 sts)

Round 11:  P.  (60 sts)

Rounds 12-31:  Repeat rounds 8-11 five times.  (60 sts)

Rounds 32-33:
  *P2, K2.  Repeat from * around. (60 sts)

Begin decrease rounds switching to double points when necessary.

Round 34:  *K8, K2tog.  Repeat from * around. (54 sts)

Round 35:  P.  (54 sts)

Round 36:  *(P2, K2, P2, K2tog, P1) (K2, P2, K2, P2tog, K1)  Repeat from * twice.  (48 sts)

Round 37:  *(P2, K2, P2, K1, P1) (K2, P2, K2, P1, K1)  Repeat from * twice.  (48 sts)

Round 38:  K6, K2tog. Repeat from * around. (42 sts)

Round 39:  P5, P2tog. Repeat from * around. (36 sts)

Round 40:  *(P2, K2, P2tog) (K2, P2, K2tog)  Repeat from * twice.  (30 sts)

Round 41:  *(P2, K1, P2tog) (K2, P1, K2tog)  Repeat from * twice.  (24 sts)

Round 42:  *K2, K2tog. Repeat from * around. (18 sts)

Round 43:  *P1, P2tog. Repeat from * around. (12 sts)

Round 44:  *P2tog, K2tog. Repeat from * around. (6 sts)


Finish in either of these two ways:

1.  Cut yarn leaving a 6 inch tail.  Use tapestry needle to run yarn tail through the stitches and pull to close. 

Weave in ends. 

2.  Optional I Cord Knot, start I Cord, k2, k2tog, k 2 for the first row only.

Knit 5 or 6 inch I Cord with the remaining 5 stitches.

Cut yarn leaving a 6 inch tail.

Use tapestry needle to run yarn tail through the stitches and pull to close. 
Now run yarn down the center of the I Cord.

Tie I Cord in a knot.

Weave in ends.

STRAWBERRY FIELDS CAP


SIZES:  Baby 12-14

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn approximately 1 ounce
US size 10 (6 mm) 16 inch circular knitting needle
US size 10 (6 mm) double point needles
Tapestry needle
Marker

NOTES:
  1. Read instructions through before beginning.
  2. Use size 9 (5.5) needles for the light weight worsted yarn, like Pound of Love, Simply Soft and Caron Jumbo Prints.
  3. The cap in photo was knit with Caron Jumbo Prints in Baby Rainbow.
  4. This cap is worked from the wrong side.  It is turn right side out before the last 6 sts are pulled tight.

INSTRUCTIONS:
With 16 inch needle, cast on 48 sts. Join and work in the round.

Place marker to designate beginning of round.

Round 1:  *K2, P2.   Repeat from * to marker.  (48 sts)

Repeat round 1 until cap measures 1 inch from cast on edge.

Next 3 rounds: *K5, P1.  Repeat from * around.   (48 sts)

Next 3 rounds: K2, P1.  *K5, P1.  Repeat from * around to 3 sts before marker.  K3.  (48 sts)

Repeat these 6 rounds until cap measures 5 inches from cast on edge.  

Begin decreases:  Switch to double points when necessary.

Dec Round 1:  *K6, K2tog.  Repeat from * around.  (42 sts)

This is where I switch to double points.

Dec Round 2:  *K5, K2tog.   Repeat from * around.  (36 sts)

Dec Round 3:  *K4, K2tog.  Repeat from * around.  (30 sts)

Dec Round 4:  *K3, K2tog.  Repeat from * around.  (24 sts)

Dec Round 7:  *K2, K2tog.  Repeat from * around.  (18 sts)

Dec Round 8:  *K1, K2tog.  Repeat from * around.  (12 sts)

Dec Round 9:  *K2tog.  Repeat from * around.  (6 sts)

Cut yarn, weave end through remaining 6 sts. Before you draw tight and weave in end turn right side out.


STRAWBERRY FIELDS BLANKET



SIZE:
Approximately 30 inches X 36 inches (32 inches X 32 inches)

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn about 8 ounces of each color
US size 15 (10 mm) 24 inch circular
Tapestry needle

GAUGE:
10 sts = 4 inches

NOTES:
1.  Read instructions though before beginning.
2.  Blanket in photo is knit with one strand of Craft Smart (Michaels) Strawberry Fields and one of Lion Brand Pound of Love White. 
3.  Blanket is NOT worked in the round a circular needle is used to accommodate the stitches.
5.  If you want a larger blanket cast on in additional increments of 6 stitches.  You will need more yarn of course. 


INSTRUCTIONS:
Blanket is knit with two strands throughout.

Cast on 73 (79) stitches

Rows 1-5:  Knit.

Row 6 RS:  K4, *P5, K1. Repeat from * across.  P5, K4.  (73, 79 sts)
Row 7:  K4, *K5, P1.  Repeat from * across.  K9. (73, 79 sts)
Rows 8-11:  Repeat rows 6 and 7 twice. (73, 79 sts)

Row 12 RS:  K4, P2, K1. *P5, K1.  Repeat from * across.  P2, K4. (73, 79 sts)
Row 13:  K6, P1.  *K5, P1.  Repeat from * across.  K6. (73, 79 sts)
Rows 14-17:  Repeat rows 12 and 13 twice. (73, 79 sts)

Repeat rows 6-17 until blanket measures approximately 35 (31) inches. (73, 79 sts)

Knit 5 rows.

Bind off.  Weave in ends.
